About Me
I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) committed to providing compassionate and evidence-based, high-quality mental health care. I have experience working with a wide range of individuals who come from diverse backgrounds and varying age groups. I have chosen to pursue mental health counseling following my own experiences struggling with mental health challenges and becoming fascinated with how therapy is able to tangibly improve people's lives and well-being. My undergraduate studies in psychology, biology, and chemistry provided me with many opportunities to explore how healthcare is not limited to physical wellness, but also emotional and behavioral support. I became passionate about understanding how our brains respond to various stressors and challenges, which led me to pursue my master's degree in counseling. I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, and identity-related concerns. My trauma work is grounded in trauma-informed and TF-CBT principles under clinical supervision. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I am committed to honoring your pace as we work together, while supportively challenging you to gradually expand your comfort zone.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is integrative and collaborative, drawing from multiple evidence-based modalities to create treatment that is tailored to your unique experiences, goals, and preferences. I work from a person-centered and feminist framework, emphasizing autonomy, empowerment, and the importance of understanding how social, cultural, and systemic factors shape emotional well-being. Grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), my work focuses on helping clients understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while also building psychological flexibility and self-compassion. Together, we identify personal values and explore practical, meaningful ways to live in alignment with those values, even in the presence of difficult thoughts or emotions. I am committed to providing culturally competent, trauma-informed care that prioritizes safety, collaboration, and choice. Sessions move at your pace and are adapted to what feels most supportive for you. My goal is to create a respectful, nonjudgmental space where you can develop insight, strengthen coping skills, and make changes that support long-term growth and well-being.
