What to Expect in Sessions
Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to understand your experiences, identify patterns, and explore strategies that support meaningful change. Sessions are guided by your goals and what feels most important to you.
In our first session, we'll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns or questions you may have. This initial conversation helps establish a foundation of trust and allows us to determine how therapy can best support you. I use evidence-based approaches, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with mindfulness-based and trauma-informed strategies. These approaches help explore the relationship between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and values while building practical coping skills.
You are always in control of what we discuss. Therapy moves at your pace, and your comfort, consent, and autonomy are prioritized throughout the process. You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I'll help guide the conversation and support you in identifying what feels most helpful to focus on. Over time, therapy may support greater self-awareness, improved coping skills, and increased alignment with your values. The goal is to help you create meaningful, sustainable changes that support your overall well-being.
Insurance & Out-of-Pocket Practice
Bet on Growth Counseling is an out-of-pocket practice, which means we do not accept insurance directly. This approach allows us to provide you with the highest quality of care without the constraints and limitations that insurance companies often impose on treatment.
By operating as an out-of-pocket practice, we can:
- Offer flexibility in session structure without insurance-driven constraints
- Provide more flexible treatment approaches
- Maintain complete confidentiality without insurance reporting requirements
- Focus entirely on your needs rather than insurance company requirements
- Diagnosis is used thoughtfully and only when clinically appropriate, rather than driven solely by insurance requirements
While we don't accept insurance, we can provide you with a detailed receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that may cover a portion of your therapy costs. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits.
If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), therapy sessions are typically eligible expenses that you can pay for using these accounts.
