Introduction

What to Expect in Sessions

Therapy is a collaborative process where I work with you to understand your experiences, identify patterns, and develop strategies for meaningful change. In our first session, we’ll talk about your goals, concerns, and what brings you to therapy, laying the groundwork for trust and understanding. Sessions are approximately 50 minutes long and tailored to your needs and preferences. I use a person-centered, feminist approach to care, drawing from culturally competent, trauma-informed CBT and ACT interventions, and adapt my work to what feels most helpful for you. Throughout our work together, you can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. You’re always in control of what we discuss, and my goal is to support greater self-awareness, stronger coping skills, and lasting, meaningful change.

Specializations

My Specializations

Anxiety

Managing anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and general worries can feel overwhelming. Using evidence-based approaches such as CBT and ACT, we will work together to explore ways to improve your ability to cope with symptoms of anxiety.

Anxiety, panic, and chronic worry can feel overwhelming and disruptive. My work focuses on understanding how anxious thoughts, physical sensations, and avoidance patterns interact. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help clients develop practical coping tools, challenge unhelpful thinking, and build flexibility in how they respond to anxiety so it has less control over their day-to-day lives.

Trauma

Trauma-informed care for processing past experiences and understanding how they impact your current emotions and behaviors. I aim to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore traumatic experiences at your own pace.

Past experiences can continue to shape emotional responses, beliefs, and behaviors long after the event has passed. I provide trauma-informed care that prioritizes safety, choice, and pacing. Drawing from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), sessions may focus on understanding trauma-related patterns, strengthening grounding and regulation skills, and increasing a sense of control and stability in the present.

Depression

Support to navigate depression, such as major depressive disorder and persistent depressive disorder. Together we will work to understand your depressive symptoms and explore an individualized approach to managing symptoms and improving your quality of life.

Depression can impact motivation, mood, relationships, and self-worth. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we explore thought and behavior patterns that may contribute to depressive symptoms while also identifying ways to reconnect with meaning, values, and supportive routines. Treatment is collaborative and individualized, with an emphasis on improving emotional regulation, self-compassion, and overall quality of life.

Self-Esteem

Work towards building a healthier self-perception and increasing confidence. We will use CBT approaches to explore negative self-talk and how to reshape the way you speak to yourself and show yourself compassion.

Low self-esteem often shows up through negative self-talk, self-doubt, or difficulty trusting yourself. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques are used to identify and challenge these internal narratives, while Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) supports building self-compassion and aligning actions with personal values. The goal is to foster a healthier, more balanced relationship with yourself.

LGBTQ+ Affirming Care

Affirming, inclusive support for LGBTQ+ individuals navigating identity, relationships, and the unique challenges of living authentically, while recognizing the impact of societal stressors on our mental health.

Navigating identity, relationships, and societal stressors can take a toll on mental health. I offer affirming care that recognizes the impact of stigma, discrimination, and minority stress. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches support exploring internalized messages, strengthening coping skills, and building resilience while honoring your identity and experiences.

Relationship Support

Individual guidance for improving communication, resolving conflict, and building healthy connections. I provide support to individuals who are working on romantic relationships, family dynamics and conflict, and friendship challenges.

Patterns in relationships—whether romantic, familial, or platonic—can be complex and emotionally charged. Individual therapy provides space to examine communication styles, emotional responses, boundaries, and values. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies help increase awareness, improve conflict navigation, and support healthier, more intentional connections. I am not currently offering couples counseling services.
